Renton Civic Theatre opens Neil Simon’s classic farce Rumors Friday

The Renton Civic Theatre’s production of the time-honored Neil Simon classic, “Rumors,” opens Friday at the downtown Renton theater for a three-weekend run.

The play takes place in the tastefully appointed Sneden’s Landing townhouse, where New York’s deputy mayor has just shot himself. It’s only a flesh wound, but the farce begins.

Gathering for their 10th wedding anniversary, the host lies bleeding in the other room and his wife is nowhere in sight. His lawyer and wife must get “the story” straight before the other guests arrive.

The show runs Friday through April 24, 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.

Tickets are $22 for adults and $17 for students and seniors. Tickets are available by calling the Box Office at 425-226-5529 or at the theater’s Web site.

The theater is at 507 S. Third St. in downtown Renton.
