Renton Civic Theater presents two plays to benefit KCSARC and itself

The Renton Civic Theater is presenting two plays – both designed to empower women and girls – this weekend and next to benefit the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center and the theater.

At 8 p.m. today (Friday) and Saturday is “The Vagina Monologues: V-day Edition,” an award-winning play based on interviews with more than 200 women that celebrates sexuality and strength.

Then at 8 p.m. on March 25 and 26 is “A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer: Writings to End Violence Against Women & Girls.” This is what’s described as a ground-breaking collection of monologues written by world-renowned authors and playwrights, including, Edward Albee, Maya Angelou, Jane Fonda and others.

The actors in the plays are professionals from throughout the Puget Sound region.

Tickets for the shows are $15. They are available at the door or online. The theater is at 507 S. Third St. in downtown Renton.
