Local church launches new app to coincide with weekend celebration

St. Anthony Parish will officially launch the app at weekend masses. It will be available in the Google Play, Apple and Microsoft stores.

Renton’s St. Anthony Catholic Parish is launching a new Church App this weekend in conjunction with the worldwide Catholic Feast Day of the church’s patron Saint, St. Anthony of Padua, on June 13.

St. Anthony Parish, voted Best of Renton 2016 in the Church category by Renton Reporter readers, will officially launch the app at weekend masses but anyone in the community can download the app at Google Play and soon at Apple and Microsoft stores.

The new St. Anthony’s app features information on parish liturgies & exciting events, a portal to Catholic prayers, daily readings, Pope Francis’ reflections & more.

“This app is part of Fr. Jack Shrum’s goal to share Catholic spirituality in innovative ways,” Richard Bray, a St. Anthony parishioner and member of the church’s Communications Team, said in an email.

The parish also recently unveiled a new website www.st-anthony.cc and Fr. Shrum, pastor of St. Anthony Parish, often uses his smartphone to reference points during his homily.
