‘The Disconnect’ producer, Mitch Shepherd, center, and the film’s star, John Wu, right, received the People’s  Choice Award in Renton FilmFrenzy IV from Renton Reporter Publisher Ellen Morrison at the Renton City Council meeting Monday night. The winner of the Film Frenzy Curvee was determined in online voting at rentonreporter.com. ‘The Disconnect’ also won the Best Picture Curvee at the FilmFrenzy Gala last month and Wu received the Curvee for Best Actor. In remarks, Shepherd and Wu thanked the city for giving them and other filmmakers a chance to practice their art.
