Feb. 12 designated Lunar New Year Day in Renton

Feb. 12 was designated Lunar New Year Day, and City Hall celebrated the holiday with food, lion dancing and a reception.

“2024 is the Year of the Dragon. Legend says this represents good fortune and luck in the year ahead. It is said the dragon has one requirement: to be kind and compassionate to one another before gifts of wealth and wisdom are distributed. I think that is the perfect message to remember this year,” said Mayor Armondo Pavone.
