Thanks to Renton school teacher for attending dance recital

I wanted to take a moment to thank and recognize Ms. Hutt, a local Talbot Hill Elementary school teacher who attended a Renton Community Center dance recital.

When Sophie asked us if she could invite her second-grade teacher, Marcie Hutt, our first instinct was to say, no. We didn’t want our daughter to be disappointed if she couldn’t come. Ms. Hutt is dedicated, smart and just plain wonderful, but we didn’t want to put her on the spot. We just weren’t sure Ms. Hutt would want to give up a Saturday of her own time … a beautiful 80-degree Saturday as it turned out.

Boy, were we wrong! I’m sure every reader can imagine the picture we have of our daughter hugging her teacher, a wide grin on Sophie’s face holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a lovely card from her teacher … a memory to last a lifetime. Ms. Hutt wasn’t the only public school teacher from Talbot Hill. Ms. Patterson and Mr. Ryan also came to support their students.
