Prince knows community

I’ve worked in Renton for more than five years but I have been a Renton resident for only a short time, so this will be my first time voting for my City council, and I’m supporting Ed Prince for the position.

I’ve worked in Renton for more than five years but I have been a Renton resident for only a short time, so this will be my first time voting for my City council, and I’m supporting Ed Prince for the position. I’m impressed with his commitment to small businesses and creating jobs in Renton. I like his approach of supporting our schools and the Renton Technical College as both a short and long-term strategy for the local job market to pull from a LOCAL pool of educated Renton-ites. For people who grow up and go to school in Renton, it would be a wonderful way to come full circle to be able to start a business, hire people, and/or get hired for a local job in Renton. I’ve met Ed, and it’s not just his approach to an issue that impresses me—it’s his knowledge of the issues that has earned my vote. He actually understands the root of the problems, the cost AND the benefit of various solutions, and the realistic potential of which solution would work best. A lot of candidates will talk about supporting this or fixing that, but Ed has served on the Renton Planning Commission, the City of Renton Community Budget Advisory and Citizens for Renton Schools. Clearly Ed Prince is the candidate who knows the community and the issues well enough to have a realistic plan to make things better.
