Palin needs to express herself

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin gave a rousing speech at the Republican Convention. But the speech, written by one of George W. Bush’s speech writers, didn’t reveal anything about Gov. Palin’s own views on many important issues.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin gave a rousing speech at the Republican Convention. But the speech, written by one of George W. Bush’s speech writers, didn’t reveal anything about Gov. Palin’s own views on many important issues.

The speech didn’t mention that she doesn’t believe in evolution, or that she wants “creationism” taught in public schools. Nor did it mention that she doesn’t want sex education being taught in schools; that she believes promoting abstinence is all that’s necessary. Perhaps that is why the speech also didn’t mention that she is anti-choice, opposing a woman’s right to terminate a pregnancy even in the case of rape, injury or incest.

I hope Gov. Palin will eventually use her own words to elaborate on these and other important issues, so voters will be able to make an informed decision in November.
