Maxwell’s commitment to small business questioned

I find it odd that Marcie Maxwell has sent out so many flyers proclaiming to be pro-small business when she recently voted to raise the service sector B & O tax by 20 percent. Her YEA vote on ESSB 6143 was a blow to all service-sector businesses which, by my count, makes up a good deal of the small businesses in Washington State. Taking a further look at her voting public record for the 61st Legislature, 2010, (http://www.leg.wa.gov/House/Representatives/Documents/MemberRollCalls/2010/maxwell.pdf), I find that she lockstep voted with the majority in 710 out of 711 votes. Only once did she take the giant step to stray from the pack. I am disturbed by this lack of leadership and initiative that the citizens of the 41st District deserve. It is time we had a new face representing us in Olympia.
