Tommy the turtle — a childhood friend

Dear editor,

“Tommy the Turtle” was indeed designed and sculpted by my father, Milton Hebald. It was a commission from Creative Playthings.

I can still remember the original in his studio. Turtles were my favorite pets, and I had many of them, which no doubt inspired my father to create “Tommy.”
