Kudos to Ed Prince for his election | Letter to the editor

Kudos to Ed Prince for his endurance and triumph in the race for Renton City Council after being dropped by both the Police Guild and the Renton Reporter.

Kudos to Ed Prince for his endurance and triumph in the race for Renton City Council after being dropped by both the Police Guild and the Renton Reporter. The transgressions attributed to Ed Prince by the Police Guild were not greater than those of the police who also serve in a public capacity, even though they claim, “We are not trying to pass judgment on anyone.”

The flip-flopping of the Renton Reporter in their support for Ed Prince in the election was optional, but they are duty bound to report fair and balanced news.  Thus, the Renton Reporter’s failure to report Gov. Chris Gregoire’s appointment of Edward O. Prince as the Executive Director of the Commission on African American Affairs was blatantly unfair and unbalanced.  The commission covers the entire state of Washington and supports a variety of issues relevant to people of any race and ethnicity, which by itself is newsworthy. That, coupled with the fact that Ed Prince was the front runner in the race for Renton City Council (which he won), and a resident should have sparked sufficient pride for front page, headline coverage by the Renton Reporter.
