My name is Ian Campbell and I just wanted to tell the Renton Reporter that I am honored to vote in this election. I feel like I can be part of something big in this government, and I feel like it’s also great to make a choice that could improve the government and make the U.S. a good place to live for another four-year term. I think everybody should have an opinion on what should happen with the country in which he or she lives, though I understand you need to be a certain mature age to vote and make a decision. When I fill out the ballot, I feel like I am writing out my name to the government because when my ballot is opened then my vote will be counted and I will feel more like I am part of these United States. I feel like it is also important to vote due to issues with this economy and I feel that voting will show how much I want a certain candidate to win.

This weekend my parents and I voted. I feel like an older person because I got to put my opinion on a piece of paper. It felt like a lot of work having to think about who to vote for and that is because there were a lot of people who were running that I had never heard of before. I had never thought there were so many requirements on a ballot such as never turning in someone else’s ballot and I never knew I had to sign or put a signature on the ballot. I feel good about voting and giving my thoughts and I feel like a real adult.
