Seattle area prices up 0.8 percent in past two months

The latest Consumer Price Index news release for the greater Seattle area is now available from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Items of note include:

• Prices in the Seattle area increased 0.8% since December 2012, while up 1.8% over the past 12 months;

• Gasoline prices rose 8.4% over the last 2 months, and 1.3% since February 2012;

• Natural gas service prices declined 6.2 percent over the year;

• The all items less food and energy index increased 0.5% since December, while up 1.8% over the past 12 months; and

• Nationally, prices increased 2.0% over the last 12 months
