Sewing Machine Service Company on Main Avenue in Renton will host “Sewapalooza” events this weekend at their store.

Sponsored by Bernina of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, the Sewing Machine Service Company, a Bernina Dealer, will host events from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, at the store, 315 Main Ave. in Renton.

Participants will have an opportunity to learn sewing, quilting and embroidery techniques and tricks from Bernina educator Shelly Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald is experienced with teaching mastery for all Bernina sewing and embroidery machines, sergers, and software, including Bernina DesignWorks and Bernina Embroidery Software 7. She also teaches free motion quilting, designs patterns and has private sewing and quilting classes for clients of all ages.

Fitzgerald’s mom taught her sewing as a small child and by junior high she was making most of her own clothes. Currently, her focus has shifted to machine embroidery, quilting, home decorating and bags-crafts with an occasional garment.

The cost is $45 per day and includes project kits, lunch, snacks, prizes and loads of fun. To register, call 425-255-8673 or stop by the store.
