King Parker to retire from council

King Parker is retiring at the end of this year after 12 years of service on the Renton City Council.

King Parker is retiring at the end of this year after 12 years of service on the Renton City Council.

A celebration is being organized in his honor at 1 p.m., Sept. 25 by the Renton Community Foundation.

The celebration is open to the public and all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Parker’s favorite charities: Renton Technical College Foundation, Communities in Schools of Renton and the Renton Community Foundation. Food and beverages will be provided.

Tickets for the celebration are $40 and the reservation deadline is Sept. 16. Reservations and checks can be sent to the Renton Community Foundation at PO Box 820, Renton, WA 98057.
