Chamber offering PPE kits for small businesses

Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday will be distribution days for the kits of masks and hand sanitizer.

The Renton Chamber of Commerce will be distributing Small Business Safe Start PPE kits to local businesses on several days this week.

Renton businesses are required to register for a distribution date and time, according to a Chamber of Commerce press release.

A kit will consist of a bag with cloth masks, disposable masks and hand sanitizer, provided by King County.

The distribution, located at the Chamber of Commerce parking lot, 625 S Fourth St. Renton, is available for the following days:

  • 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 25
  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 26
  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 30

Business representatives will stay in their vehicle to drive through the distribution line, check-in with a volunteer and then open their trunk, window or door for a contactless delivery of the Safe Start Kit. Then they will be directed down the pick-up line to the next volunteer where the kits will be placed in their backseat to ensure a contactless delivery.

Additional disposable masks were donated by the government of Linyi, a city in China that Renton shares a business relationship with, according to the press release.
