Boon Boona coffee is the special ingredient for All-Star Week ice cream at T-Mobile Park

Salt & Straw’s Pale Stout & Cracker Jack Ice Cream was in collaboration with Métier Brewing Company and Boon Boona.

A small, caffeinated piece of Renton is officially a part of Seattle Mariners’ history.

For their special Pale Stout & Cracker Jack Ice Cream for All-Star Week at T-Mobile Park, Salt & Straw Ice Cream used coffee from Boon Boona in Renton to give the limited-edition ice cream its java flavor.

Boon Boona is a Black-owned African coffee brewer and shop that is based in Renton, but also has a location in Seattle. Salt & Straw collaborated with Boon Boona to bring out the coffee flavor in their special All-Star ice cream.

The special Pale Stout & Cracker Jack Ice Cream was also in partnership with Seattle-based Métier Brewing Company, which is one of the few Black-owned breweries in the country. Their coffee stout ice cream, which is used with Boon Boona’s flavors, is called Sherwood Coffee Stout, named for Sherwood Brewer, the man who founded the Negro League Baseball Players Foundation in 1996.
