The chamber annually recognizes a Citizen of the Year and two Outstanding Citizens as part of its Renton Citizen of the Year program. They are honored at a banquet.

Dr. Bob Thompson was last year’s Citizen of the Year.

The program recognizes individuals for their “selfless acts of generosity and volunteerism” to nurture a sense of community in Renton, according to the Chamber of Commerce.

From the nominees, the three honorees are selected by representatives from the chamber, the City of Renton, the Rotary Club of Renton and past winners.

Nomination forms are available at the City of Renton website home page, or the Renton Chamber of Commerce website.
