A key deadline is coming up for voters in the Renton School District who will vote on levies and a bond measure in the Feb. 14 special election.
Monday (Jan. 16) is the deadline for citizens in the Renton district to register to vote online or by mail, or to update their voter registration. Post offices will be closed Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
In-person registration is offered at the King County Elections Division headquarters at 919 S.W. Grady Way, Renton.
“Remember to get your registration forms postmarked before the holiday on Monday so you have the chance to vote in the Special Election,” said Elections Director Sherril Huff in a press release. “Citizens can also register online through Jan. 16. The website will work even though it’s a holiday.”
The King County Elections website offers voters registration forms in eight languages. Online registration is available in three languages.
To check voter registration information or to view a list of candidates and measures that will appear on your ballot, use Your Voter Guide on the King County Elections website. Voters can also check their registration information by calling the King County Voter Hotline at 206-296-VOTE (8683).
If you are registered to vote, but forget to update your address by the Jan. 16 deadline, you can still vote in the district in which you are currently registered, according to the county. Contact King County Elections to obtain a ballot and update your registration information.
