Swim and dive championships on Friday and Saturday

Swimmers and divers from Renton, Hazen, Lindbergh and Liberty will be competing at Federal Way.

The state boys swim and dive championship events jumps into the water on Friday and Saturday at the King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way.

Swimmers and divers from Renton, Hazen, Lindbergh and Liberty will be competing to stand on the top step.

HAZEN

The Highlanders will be competing in the 4A Division at the state meet.

The 200-yard medley relay team of David Rollins, Ethan Dang, Victor Hayes and Tyler Sperry qualified for state at the district meet in 1 minute, 42.63 seconds.

Rollins will also swim in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100 backstroke.

Freshman Dang will compete in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke.

RENTON

The Indians will be competing in the 2A division at the aquatics center.

Sophomore Richard Tran will swim in the 100 backstroke.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Tai-Anthony McMillan, Rio Garvin, Don Pham and Tran qualified for state in 1:44.02.

Mariano Tolentino, Garvin, Pham and Tran will be competing in the 400 free relay. The team qualified in 4:00.32.

LINDBERGH

The Eagles will also be competing to win the 2A ranks at state.

Myles Malphrus, Minh Pham, Andrew Albrecht and Anthony Vogeler qualified for state in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:39.67.

Vogeler, Pham, Connor Donahue and James Buchanan will swim in the 400 free relay. The team’s qualifying time was 3:30.96.

Vogeler and Pham will swim in the 200 free, Donahue will compete in the 200 IM. Vogeler and Donahue will swim in the 500 free.

Anderson will compete in the dive at state and the 100 breaststroke.

Buchanan will swim the 100 butterfly and back.

LIBERTY

The Patriots will be competing in the 2A championships.

Liberty will swim in the 200 freestyle relay, the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.

Warren Briggs, Jacob Hepp and Justin Ung will swim in the 200 free event.

Brian Kim, Will Wick, Alex Nguyen and Amon Rittenberg will be competing in the 200 IM.

Marty Klatt and Milo Larson will swim in the 50 free.

In the diving event for Liberty are Ty Aramaki, Reid Parsons, Ryan Kirschner and Dale Franko.

Wick and Rittenberg will swim in the 100 butterfly, Klatt and Larson in the 100 free.

In the 500 free are Briggs, Hepp and Sam Berde.
