Renton High School’s O’Shae Barquet, basketball, was selected as the Renton Reporter’s Male Athlete of the Week for Jan. 11.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Language Arts

Q: What other activities do you participate in?

A: Reading, buying shoes

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: God, family

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: I pray before every game.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Cold Hearted II” by Meek Mill

“O’Shae Barquet deserves to be athlete of the week because while managing a rigorous academic course load maintaining a 3.0 GPA, he leads the boys basketball team as a captain. In the last three games, he has average 20 points and four assists.”
