Hazen High School’s Eric Bunnell, soccer, was selected as the Renton Reporter’s Male Athlete of the Week for April 12.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: AP Language Arts

Q: What other activities do you participate in?

A: I play soccer during all my free time.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: I have three older brothers who also played soccer and whom I look up to very much. Also, my parents help me out a lot and support me in everything I do.

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: Before soccer games I watch motivational videos and listen to music.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: Anything by the Backstreet Boys

“Eric Bunnell had two goals and one assist this week helping Hazen to go undefeated in North Puget Sound League 4A Cascade play. He leads NPSL Cascade in scoring, assists and total points. A junior, he has committed to Western Washington University to further his education and play soccer.” — Ken Matthews

                                Football season is back. In a cross-town rivalry game, the Lindbergh Eagles and Hazen Highlanders went head-to-head Friday, Sept. 6 at Renton Memorial Stadium. Away-team Highlanders held the win, 36-14.
