Highlander soccer gets second consecutive win

The Hazen Highlander girls soccer picked up their second win in a row against a league opponent and hope they have their season back on the right track.

On Tuesday, the Highlanders bested Kent-Meridian 4-0 at French Field in Kent.

Nia Johnson and Amy Warmenhoven each had a goal and an assist in the win. Isis Hatcher and Allison Sargent picked up the other two goals. Madison Taylor and Meagan Kelly had assists.

Coach ken Matthews said in an email that the points on the league table were especially important as the teams make a push to the postseason.

“Tonight is an example of what’s going to happen on game nights from now on and we have to take advantage of that,” he said.

Hazen is now 5-6 overall and 4-5 in the North Puget Sound League’s Cascade division. The play Kentwood on Thursday and Mount Rainier Tuesday, both at Renton Memorial Stadium.
