Hazen volleyball bests Thomas Jefferson

Kayala Swain’s 26 assists, 7 digs and 5 aces led the way for the Highlanders.

The Hazen girls volleyball team moved to 2-1 on the season Monday with a 3-0 win over Thomas Jefferson.

Kayala Swain’s 26 assists, 7 digs and 5 aces led the way for the Highlanders, with Alicia Nguyen and Anna McCallum each adding 10 kills in the win.

Nguyen also added 15 digs and 5 aces while McCallum added 8 digs and 4 aces of her own.

Hazen is now 2-1 overall, but is yet to face an opponent from its new conference, the North Puget Sound League Cascade conference. The team heads to Auburn on Wednesday and hosts Eastlake on Thursday.
