Gymnasts and wrestlers gear up for state championships.

State championships is Feb. 17-18 at the Tacoma Dome.

This weekend is a big one for gymnastics and wrestling. Here’s what’s happening:

GYMNASTICS

The gymnastics state championship takes to the floor Friday and Saturday at the Tacoma Dome.

Renton will compete as a team Friday after taking third at the 2A/3A district meet.

Competing at district for the Indians were Sandy Nguyen, Isabella Tear, Savanna Beck, Reanna Wong, Kathy Nguyen, Diana Ta, Hannah Tunis, Alyssa Ocampo, Miriam Sandoval and Grace Schiel.

For Lindbergh Natalya Gruske will be competing at state on the beam.

Hazen gymnast will be in the 4A division. On the bars will be Riley O’Brien and Kirsten Timm. On the beam will be Timm and Emily Komboukos will compete on the floor.

WRESTLING

The Tacoma Dome will be home to the Mat Classic state wrestling tournament Friday and Saturday.

Hazen in the 4A division will have Mario Wesa at 138 pounds.

In the 2A division Renton will be represented by John Pham, 106, Noah Arelolo, 126, Noah Smith, 138, Michael Stuart, 145.

Lindbergh, also in 2A, will feature Deven Maddy, 152, and Diego Gallegos at 182. Aj Sellem will wrestle at 285.

Liberty, in 2A, has Juan Flores, 145, Brendan Nguyen, 195 and Jakob Dasilva wrestling at 285.
