Renton quarterback Royal Dotson-Goode scored three running touchdowns and added another in the air, but it was not enough as the Steilacoom Sentinels beat the Renton Indians 56-36 on Thursday at Renton Memorial Stadium.

Things got off on the wrong foot for the Indians when in the first quarter Renton reportedly fumbled the ball, which was scooped up and run back for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead for Steilacoom.

In the second, the Sentitnals added a pair of passing touchdowns from 21 and 37 yards out to go up 21-0. But Dotson-Goode responded with his first touchdown, a 21-yard run that made the score 21-6 .

Steilacoom responded, however, getting another passing touchdown to head to halftime up 28-6.

In the third, Dotson-Goode ran in a 12-yard touchdown and then passed for the two-point conversion to bring it to 28-14, but Steialcoom was able to add two more passing touchdowns before the end of the quarter to take a 42-14 lead into the final frame.

In the fourth, Renton’s Taeleraye Green took a handoff for a 12-yard touchdown with Renton picking up the conversion to climb to 42-22, but just 30 seconds later, Steialcoom added another seven of their own on a 39-yard touchdown pass.

But Renton did not give in as Dotson-Goode tossed a 16-yard touchdown pass to Kayee Song and then ran in the 2-pint conversion to make it 49-30.

But Steilacoom scored again a minute-and-a-half later on a 23-yard pass play to take a 56-30 lead.

Dotson-Goode raced in for another touchdown with a minute left, but it was then too late as the Sentinels hung on for a 56-36 victory.

Renton is now 1-2 overall and in the league and will travel to River Ridge on Thursday for a match-up with the undefeated Hawks.
