Renton, Hazen and Lindbergh wrestlers make finals, will compete at state | Wrestling (slideshow)

Four Renton wrestlers made the finals at the 3A Region II wrestling tournament at Mount Rainier Feb. 13.

Renton led the way for local teams, placing ninth with 48 points. The Indians had eight wrestlers at the tournament and two made the finals. Renton's Aaron Garcia lost to Bonney Lake's Andrew Cunningham in the finals at 103 pounds by a 7-1 decision.

The Indians' Joseph Watson lost to Bonney Lake's Jared Dorsey in the finals at 285 pounds on a 3-2 overtime decision.

Both Garcia and Watson made the state match.

Hazen placed 11th with 36.5 points. The Highlanders' Jordan Hjelmaa lost to Enumclaw's D.J. Qualls by pin in the 189-pound class finals. Hjelmaa will wrestle at state.

Hazen had seven wrestlers at the tournament.

Lindbergh finished 14th with 22 points. The Eagles had two wrestlers at the tournament. Leading the way was Isiah Corwin, who lost by pin to Enumclaw's Kario Wallin at 160 pounds.

Corwin will wrestle at state.

The 3A state wrestling match is Feb. 19-20 at the Tacoma Dome.
