The Liberty boys swim and dive team finished sixth at the KingCo 4A/3A championships Feb. 6 at Mary Wayte Pool in Mercer Island.

The Patriots scored 318 points as a team, good enough to place sixth out of the 19 teams.

Briggs was part of Liberty's second-place 200 medley relay. The other swimmers were Luke Duschl, Shunya Asano and Austin Briggs. He placed sixth in the 100 fly.

Asano (a Japanese exchange student) won the league title for the 100 breast with a state-qualifying time of 1:02.64.

Duschl finished seventh in the 200 freestyle.

Austin Briggs placed seventh in the 50 freestyle.

Liberty's 200 free relay (A. Briggs, Duschl, Hayden Meriwether and L. Briggs) placed third.
