Hamilton Noel takes 152-pound title at tournament | Wrestling

The Liberty wrestling team placed 12th at the Battle of at the Border wrestling tournament Saturday.

The Patriots scored 84 points against an array of Washington teams.

Hamilton Noel picked up two pins and four wins overall on the way to a title at 152 pounds.

Wright Noel won three times and finished fourth at 140 pounds.

Dan Velasquez won twice on the way to a sixth-place finish at 112 pounds.

Chris Weik topped Benn Jackson of Granite Falls in a consolation match at 135 pounds.

Josh Muttart beat Steilacoom's Thomas Ortega at 145 pounds.

Shane Small won a consolation match against Blaine's Juan Avena at 171 pounds.

Brandon Studer picked up three wins at 171 but fell short of placing.

Chris Harlin pinned Beamer's Dylan Steiger at 215.

Jared Bales wrestled at 215 pounds.
