Football: Liberty outlasts Lindbergh 20-17 in triple-overtime thriller

Liberty beat Lindbergh 20-17 in triple overtime Friday night in a 3A state football tournament quarterfinal game.
The teams tied at 14-14 at the end of regulation. Trey Wheeler connected with Jake Bainton on a fade route to the right side of the end zone from seven yards out to end the game.
Lindbergh had made a 22-yard field goal to take the lead in the third overtime.
The Patriots will advance to face either Mount Spokane or Lakes in the state seminal next weekend.
