Follow Renton Reporter sports writer Adam McFadden around this summer by keeping an eye on the Summer Sports Blog.

Here's a snapshot of Hazen at a summer practice this afternoon. New coach Ken Matthews had the girls working hard in the summer heat.

The team was running through a scrimmage, which included progressive crunches.

Matthews comes to Hazen from Montesano, where he led the team to a 46-9-2 record in three years.

More photos to come soon via a slideshow.

Last week I watched a 7-on-7 between the Liberty and Renton football teams. Check out the photos here.

Thursday I'll be attending a Hazen football practice, so watch for photos from that.

Other than that (and two vacations sandwiched in there), I've been spending most of my time working on a Seahawks special section due to come out early August.

I hope everyone's having a great summer.
