Liberty High School graduate Tim Lincecum is now 6-1 with a 2.66 ERA and 1.17 WHIP on the season, pitching for the San Francisco Giants.
Lincecum has 103 strikeouts through 88 innings so far in 2009. His ERA and WHIP area nearly identical to his numbers from 2008 (2.62 ERA, 1.17 WHIP), when he won the Cy Young as the National League's best pitcher.
He is slightly behind the pace from last season in wins, partially because of low run support and bullpen troubles. Lincecum has pitched at least seven innings allowing one run or fewer twice already and not earned a win.
