Liberty's Hamilton Noel lost to Sunnyside's Shawn Olivarez in the state wrestling competition at the Tacoma Dome. Noel lost in the fourth overtime period 5-4.

Liberty placed 35th at the 3A state wrestling championships, with 12 points.

Junior Dan Velasquez went 0-2 at 103 pounds.

Senior Matt Weik placed eighth at 125 pounds. Weik went 2-2 at the tournament, beating Everett's Jack Forrest and Chief Sealth's Brandon Rosario.

Freshman Hamilton Noel went 1-2 at 135 pounds, beating Prarie's Nolen Spires.

Junior Wright Noel went 1-2 at 140 pounds, beating Mount Si's Ryan Makela.

Sophomore Jay Chakravarty went 0-2 at 152 pounds.

Junior Brandon Studer went 1-2 at 160 pounds, beating Mount Rainier's Josh Fleming.

Senior Malcolm Dike went 1-2 at 171 pounds, beating Everett's Laban Crook.

Junior Chris Harlin went 0-2 at 215 pounds.
