Hazen beats Kennedy in extra innings

The Hazen Highlanders pulled out a 4-3 extra-inning victory against the Seamount League-leading Kennedy Catholic Lancers Wednesday at Hazen High School.

Junior Mitchell Hard had a game-winning double in the bottom of the eighth to give the Highlanders the win. Hard was also the winning pitcher in the game, pitching the final two frames and surrendering zero runs on zero hits while walking three and striking out one.

Hard took over for Drew Santana who started the game for Hazen and threw six innings, giving up three runs on seven hits, no walks and six strikeouts.

Isaiah Potter went 3-4 for the Highlanders, with a double and an RBI.

The win brings Hazen to 11-6 overall, 10-3 in the Seamount. The Highlanders play at Tyee on Friday.
