Renton boys lose to Sumner; face loser-out game today

February 16, 2013 · Updated 11:05 AM

The Sumner Spartans on Friday night upset the top-seeded Renton Indians 55-53 in the 2A boys basketball district tournament.

Though the loss derails a shot at the district championship game Monday at the ShoWare center, it does not necessarily mean the end of the road for the Indians this postseason.

Renton plays fourth-seeded Franklin Pierce at 2:30 p.m. today at Curtis High School. The winner will finish in sixth place and advance to the regional tournament.
