The Renton girls basketball team dropped a close one to Port Angeles Thursday night, but the Indians still have a chance to move on to the regional tournament with a loser-out game Saturday against Bremerton.

But the path to regionals was made all the more difficult due to a 36-32 loss to the Port Angeles Roughriders at Foss High School in Tacoma.

Renton took an early lead, winning the first quarter 8-5 and hanging on to a 16-15 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, Port Angeles outscored the Indians 6-4 and then charged past Renton in the fourth 15-12 to secure the win.

Renton's Taylor Farris led all scorers with 18 points in the losing effort.

The loss sets up a loser-out matchup with the Bremerton Knights on Saturday. The winner will take fifth place and move on to the regional tournament and the loser's season will come to an end.

The game is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Saturday.
