Liberty continues state’s longest streak; Lindbergh falls in districts, season ends

Liberty

Liberty went 3-2 in the Sea-King 3A District Tournament on May 15-16, with the biggest win a 4-1 game over rival Skyline that secured a state tournament berth.

The state berth marks the 12th-straight for Liberty. It is Washington’s longest active streak.

Liberty’s Jesi Siemons picked up all three wins for Liberty in the tournament.

The Patriots start the state tournament on May 23 against Enumclaw at 1 p.m. The state games are at the SERA Fields in Tacoma. The tournament is double elimination and goes through May 24.

Lindbergh

Lindbergh lost two games at the West Central District Tournament on May 16.

The first loss was 10-0 against Port Angeles. Port Angeles scored five runs in the third inning, then added five more in the sixth inning.

The second loss was 7-2 against Lakes.

The Eagles finished the season at 9-10 overall and 7-6 in the Seamount League.
