Liberty
Liberty squeezed by Bellevue 3-2 in a KingCo 3A tournament game on May 6. The Patriots (11-8 overall, 9-7 KingCo 3A) lost to Bellevue 5-4 just five days before.
The Patriots loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth inning, then ran two squeeze plays to tie the score 2-2. Bellevue pitched out on the next throw and caught two Liberty runners attempting another squeeze play.
The game remained tied until the eighth inning when Libertys Nick Hart hit a slash bunt that scored Eric Peterson for the game-winning run.
Hart and Peterson each finished 2-4. Brandon Jeffers pitched a complete game for Liberty, with seven strikeouts.
Liberty moved on to play Skyline on Thursday evening (results unavailable at deadline).
Lindbergh
Lindbergh fell 10-0 to Kelso in a bi-district game on May 6. Kelso ended the regular season ranked as the No. 2 3A team in the state by baseball Washingtonbaseballpoll.com. Lindbergh managed just one hit and struggled on defense with three errors.
Lindberghs season is over after the loss.
Mount Rainier
Mount Rainier lost 18-8 to Bonney Lake in an SPSL/Seamount sub-district game on May 3. The game was tied going into the fifth inning, then Bonney Lake scored six runs in the fifth and seventh innings to put the game out of reach.
The Rams (19-4 overall, 13-1 Seamount) then fell to Olympic 5-1 on May 6 in a West Central-Southwest bi-district game.
Olympic shut out the Rams until the bottom of the seventh inning.
It was the first time Mount Rainier lost back-to-back games all season.
Mount Rainier then rebounded to beat Highline 20-1 in another bi-district game. The Rams were up 8-1 heading into the sixth inning, then exploded for a 12-run inning in the sixth.
Mount Rainiers Chris Bradley went 4-4 with three runs scored. Loren Gardner-Young went 3-3 with six RBIs.
Highlines (14-8, 10-4) Chris Graham hit a solo homerun in the fourth inning for Highlines only run.
Mount Rainer will continue in the bi-district tournament.
Highline
Highline lost 5-4 to Auburn Riverside in a sub-district game on May 3. The Ravens scored four runs in the fifth inning. Highline answered back with three but couldnt capture the last run. The Pirates were held back by four errors on defense.
Ryan Brett and Graham each went 2-4 for the Pirates.
Highline beat Shelton 5-2 in a bi-district game on May 6. Shelton scored both runs in the top of the first inning. Highline took the lead in the third and never relented.
Graham, Jacob Hignite and Hayden Rovegno each went 2-3 for the Pirates.
Highlines season ended with a 20-1 bi-district loss to Mount Rainier.
Kennedy
Kennedy lost to Franklin Pierce 16-3 in a sub-district game on May 2. Franklin Pierce scored nine runs in the bottom of the second inning and Kennedy couldnt recover.
Josh Kutz and Sean Narby each hit homeruns for Kennedy.
Franklin Pierces Kevin Whitehead went 3-4 with two doubles and five RBIs.
