Division I lacrosse coming to Starfire Saturday

Get a taste of NCAA Division I college lacrosse this Saturday as the University of Maryland takes on the University of Denver at Starfire Sports in Tukwila.

Presented by the Washington State Chapter of US Lacross, the Seatown Classic exhibition game is the first NCAA Division I lacrosse game played in Washington state.

“The City of Tukwila is excited to welcome collegiate US Lacrosse to our fine city,” said Jim Haggerton, Mayor for the City of Tukwila. “Lacrosse is an excellent sport and Starfire is the perfect facility to host it. We hope people from around Puget Sound area  and beyond will come to participate in this historic occasion.”

Tickets and more information are available at Seatownclassic.org and start at $22. Children five and younger are free.

Maryland was the runner up in the 2011 NCAA tournament. The team has two local products on the roster, Landon Carr out of Curtis High School and Drew Snider out of O'Dea.
