The Juanita girls basketball team fought back on Friday night to earn a spot in the fifth place game during the SeaKing district tournament. The Rebels beat Liberty 74-48 to keep their season alive.

The Rebels will play Bellevue at 4:45 p.m. at Bellevue College on Saturday, Feb. 18. The winning team will advance to the regional round of the state tournament as the No. 5 seed, playing the No. 1 team from District 3/4 at Rogers High School on Saturday, Feb. 25

Against the Patriots on Friday, the Rebels were down 15-8 at the end of the first quarter. Liberty held the lead throughout the second quarter, but Juanita closed the gap to 33-30 going into the break.

In the third quarter, Juanita quickly jumped out, taking control of the game right away and never trailed for the rest of the match.

By the end of the third the Lady Rebels were up 52-34, holding Liberty to just one point in the third quarter.

The fourth continued with Juanita dominating on the floor, ending with the 74-48 final score.
