Renton boys, girls beat Highline | Basketball

The Renton High basketball teams cruised past Highline Tuesday night.
The girls led by 24 after the first quarter and finished with a 73-43 win. The boys won 64-32.
The boys team led by eight after the first quarter, 17 at the half, and 27 after three quarters. Lavelle Smith led the team with 13 points. Evan Pienh scored 10. Eleven players scored for Renton in the game.
The girls team exploded in the first quarter with a 30-6 advantage, then had another big run in the third, outscoring the Pirates 20-6.
