Kelso ends Hazen's season one game short of state | Soccer

The Hazen soccer team fell to Kelso 2-1 in a winner-to-state, loser-out district playoff game Saturday afternoon.

The Highlanders (11-3-5) fell behind with 3:46 left in the first half when Kelso struck first. Hazen answered at the 32-minute mark in the second half when Gabby Brower nailed a long shot.

The two teams continued their physical, defensive battle until Kelso was able to knock in a shot with just 49 seconds left in the game.

Check back Monday for a full game story, photo slideshow and much more from Hazen's season.
