Vote Rob McKenna for bipartisan voice in the state | Letter to the editor

October 31, 2012 · 6:24 PM

I urge my fellow Renton voters to cast their vote for Rob McKenna for governor. I have known Rob for many years and I have had the chance to work for him for the past eight years as he served as our attorney general.

I have never met a more qualified candidate. I have worked for attorneys general Eikenberry and Gregoire – and those were two great attorneys general – but Rob is head and shoulders above the standard set by those two.

Rob understands that partisan politics continues to derail meaningful dialogue and meaningful leadership. Rob managed the Attorney General’s Office in a non-partisan manner and has always done what is best for Washington state. While I have not agreed with every position taken by Rob, he has never put politics before service. I saw firsthand his bipartisan efforts in the national mortgage settlement (www.nationalmortgagesettlement.com) and I assisted in his distribution of over $43 million in relief from that settlement to homeowners and homeowner support groups – both done without political bias.

Simply put: He is the best choice for governor and we need him in that position.
