‘Keep an open mind and listen to the facts’

“This new asphalt plant is important to our community and will directly impact the quality of our local roads.”

I am writing in support of the Maple Valley asphalt plant project. I am a resident of Maple Valley and an employee of Lakeside Industries.

Lakeside is seeking a permit to relocate an existing asphalt plant from Covington to Maple Valley. Lakeside purchased land on SR 169 that is zoned for industrial purposes such as an asphalt plant.

A modern asphalt plant is designed to be environmentally safe and sustainable. Lakeside is a conscientious and ethical company. Lakeside is a multi-generational family-owned business. The owners, the Lee family, are committed to being exceptional in everything our company does from safety and quality to environmental stewardship.

For over 60 years, Lakeside Industries has been an employer of choice and a desired neighbor in the communities we serve. Our company is a generous supporter of the United Way of King County and many other charitable causes. Our leaders and employees are active in supporting community programs that enrich the quality of lives in these communities.

This new asphalt plant is important to our community and will directly impact the quality of our local roads. The plant will generate sales tax revenue and other economic value for the community. The plant will continue to provide for the hard-working employees who reside in the local area and contribute to the vitality of the community.

My family and I live in the community and support both environmental protection and the asphalt plant permit. Please keep an open mind and listen to the facts.
