When we're in danger, remember it's our police officers who come to help | Mayor Denis Law
I was proud to see several of our police officers participating this weekend in the Seahawks 12K Run. Dressed in uniform and carrying more than 30 pounds of gear, officers Chris Greenwade, Tanuj Soni, Chris Nielsen and Cassidy Steed, along with his K-9 partner Fedor, ran the 7.25 miles in honor of those who were killed or injured during the Boston Marathon last week.

“In my day” if you talked in class, it resulted in a slap on the hand with a ruler. Throwing a snowball at someone in anger at recess usually resulted in making 100 snowballs with your bare hands after school. With the exception of a few holidays, you went to school for a full nine months. And, we weren’t asked to “turn off” anything, just “tune in.”
Reality for many: Eating on $4 day | For Good, For Ever
As we try to fully understand the impact of poverty in our country, it’s important to understand what it must be like for low-income individuals to survive each day. To do that, let me ask you a question - could you eat all of your meals on approximately $4 a day?
A way forward for the Cedar library | Our view
The King County Library System has listened, proposing a 19,500-square foot library over the Cedar River that’s not much smaller than the current one.
