Zola Newman

12/21/1923 – 7/9/2016

Zola Newman, age 92, was born in Platte, SD to Lillian and Nile Dimmitt. She lived in Renton for 76 years and was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Zola loved the sport of horse racing. She was the owner of many racehorses at Longacres and then at Emerald Downs. In the early 60’s she was the owner of Park Avenue Apparel, after selling the business she worked at the Renton Fireplace Shop for many years.

Survivors include, Roy Lumm, together for 49 years; son Jon Newman, Seattle; daughter Linda Newman Henson, Renton; brother Marlowe Dimmitt, San Antonio, TX; sister Joan Glover, Ada, OK; two grandchildren David and Jerry Newman and two great-grandchildren Alexa and Charlie Newman.

A private family memorial to be held in late July.
