Sandy Oja, born November 19, 1936 in Burlington, Vermont, passed away March 13, 2017 after a long illness.

While at Oregon State University, Sandy met the love of her life, Don. They were married for 58 years before his passing in December 2014. For over 20 years, Sandy devoted her career to educating and expanding the minds of children in the Renton School District. Sandy and Don had three daughters, traveled the world and sailed for many years in the San Juan and Canadian Gulf Islands.

Sandy loved music, gardening, reading and writing poetry/short stories. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at 2pm on March 26th at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church Bellevue, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: American Heart Association, Bellevue Humane Society or St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church.
