RUTH ELAINE HARR

Ruth Elaine Harr passed peacefully, with a clear heart, to be with the Lord on December 6, 2016. Ruth was born June 18, 1937 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Russell L. Harr. She spent the last 12 years, since Russell’s passing, living in Buckley, WA.

Ruth found her true calling in the caring of others. Not only did she raise five children of her own, she devoted herself to caring for many other children who considered her to be a loving caregiver and mother figure. Ruth always put the needs of other before herself, she was the most generous of people. Whether it was to see to others personal needs or taking them to where they needed to go, she could always be counted on to give a loving, helping hand. Russ never failed to comment on the tires that she wore out running down the road to help others. She loved and cared for her mother-in-law, Carolyn Harr, during her battle with cancer and was there for her in all that she needed at the end of her life. Ruth’s passions included fishing, camping, and watching golf. Cooking was one of her many talents; her culinary skills were well-known and no one went hungry when visiting her home. Ruth was also a number one fan of the Seahawks, she looked forward to every game and could and would give you a play-by-play of the game afterwards. Most of all, she loved keeping in touch and visiting friends and family.

Ruth and Russ raised five children in their home in Renton, WA: Leslie M. Bley (Matthew), Jeffrey K. Harr (Lori), Craig R. Harr (April), Karrie L. Hansberry (Roger), and Paul G. Harr (Jan).
