Robert (Bob) C. Corwin

January 21, 1929 ~ August 27, 2016

Robert (Bob) C. Corwin, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on August 27, 2016.

Preceding Bob in death are his parents John C. Corwin and Elizabeth D. Gusty, his first wife Maxine Melvine Corwin, and a dear friend Charlie Marchell.

Bob leaves behind his wife Joyce, sister Elizabeth, two sons, Mike and Greg, and three step-children, Jacky Strong, Jeanette Ackerson, and Rodney Jay, and many relatives in West Virginia. Seven grandchildren, Erik Ackerson, Tracy Nolan, Kimberly Jarvis, Tina Thompson, Jessica Jay, Zander Smith, and Connor Smith. Six great-grandchildren, August, Erika, James, Paxton, Natalie, and Sutton.

Bob was born in Morgantown, W.V. He later moved to Weirton, W.V. He attended West Virginia University, where he played football, until he joined the army in January 1949. He left the Army in 1952 after serving in the Korean War. He exited the Army at Fort Lewis took a job at Boeing. He said, “It was the only job I ever had, and it lasted for 41 years, 2 months, 11 days, and 16 ½ hours.” He helped numerous family and friends find jobs at Boeing. After retiring from Boeing, he traveled around the world with his wife and friends.

He loved his family and enjoyed telling stories and jokes to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He would teach everyone about math, schoolwork shortcuts, and life. He would go to see his family play soccer, baseball, dance and many other activities. He loved cats, and even brought one home from Indonesia.

He was a good man, husband, and father!

He will be missed by all.

Services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Renton, Washington. Viewing at 1:00pm, Service at 2:00pm.
