NORMA LOU JONES

March 8, 1925 – August 28, 2017

Norma Lou was born in Ritzville, Washington, to William H. and Versa Davis Rosenoff. After graduation she moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington where she met Stanley Jones at Wesley Club on campus. Norma Lou graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in home economics and married Stan in 1949.

They settled into an active life in Renton Washington for nearly fifty years. She was well known working at the branch library and her Pied Piper Preschool at Renton United Methodist Church. She also worked for the Methodist district office as the audio-visual librarian. She served on the State Religious Broadcasting Commission, Board of Wesley Homes, Euthenics, and Women’s Society of Christian Service. Norma Lou was President of the Renton Historical Society giving tours to every 3rd grade student in Renton. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood for nearly seventy years and was a favorite story teller for groups around Renton.

Norma Lou was a huge Mariner Baseball fan – season ticket holder from day one. Known by baseball fans in the Kingdome as, ”the Bell Lady,” Normie would ring her cowbell every time Ken Griffey Jr. would come up to bat.

Norma Lou is survived by her son Randy Jones (Shelley Nordlund) daughter Sydnie Sheets (Ken Sheets) grandson Colby Sheets (Kim) granddaughter Sarah Gremer (Josh) and her four favorite great grandchildren, Noah and Gavin Gremer, and Elleanor and Baylor Sheets.
